Adele Spear Memorial Fund for Flood Relief 2018

Help Bargain Box Help Flood Victims

Thousands of people in the Wilmington area continue to be affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Florence; hundreds are still living in tents and how winter is here. Although Bargain Box made their annual distribution of July of $15,000 in Bargain Bucks (free vouchers) to over 30 social service agencies, including schools and churches, most of the agencies have already given their clients all of their annual allotted supply due to the overwhelming need after the storm.

To respond to requests for additional aid for flood victims, Bargain Box created “The Adele Spear Memorial Fund for Flood Relief” in memory of Kathy Vezzetti’s daughter who died on September 12, two days before the hurricane arrived. Money from this fund is used at the discretion of Bargain Box staff to meet basic needs of flood victims who are still struggling with their loss. If you would like to make a donation that will have an immediate, direct and concrete impact on flood victims, please mail your check to Bargain Box of Wilmington, 4213 Princess Place Drive, Wilmington, NC 28405, and write “Adele Spear Fund” in the memo line. You can also write a check to Church of the Servant, 4925 Oriole Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403. Please write “Bargain Box – Adele Spear Fund” on the memo line.
