The Bargain Box of Wilmington, operated under the aegis of the Church of the Servant, Episcopal, is an upscale Boutique Resale Store established to serve the community by offering low-cost quality merchandise and providing jobs and training for area residents.

In response to the Coronavirus COVID-19

The health, safety, and well-being of our customers, donors, staff, and volunteers is, as always, our top priority at the Bargain Box. As an outreach ministry of Church of the Servant, we care for this community and beyond in many ways.

With this in mind we have determined that temporarily closing the store is in the best interest of all who have are part of our wonderful Bargain Box family, and also in the best interest of the wider Wilmington community. Consequently, Bargain Box of Wilmington was closed as of

March 20, 2020. We will re-open when it is safe and helpful for everyone concerned.

These anxious, fearful, and uncertain times call on us to be mindful, safe, and considerate of others. We are hopeful and trusting that these challenges will bring new opportunities for us to connect in creative ways and continue to make a difference in peoples’ lives. This too shall pass, but we believe it’s how we adapt and work together in the meantime that allows us to keep taking two steps forward when things around us make us feel we’ve taken one step back.

On a brighter note, Bargain Box is celebrating its 20th Anniversary!  The celebration has been scheduled for April 25 and at this point it has not been canceled or rescheduled. Our advisory board and committees will remotely work together to continue planning this time of thankfulness for the Bargain Box and all the ways it has benefited this community and beyond. We will notify you of our plans as they progress.

As we modify our routines to help lessen the impact of the pandemic, we hope you can find some time to explore the outdoors, being safe and also mindful of others’ space. We can enjoy our experiences with others in virtual ways, sharing stories and images from your past trips, and spreading our shared love of the environment with your family and friends.

God’s Peace and Good Health

THINK INSIDE THE BOX

“This is one of the best resale shops ever! The staff is superbly helpful & the merchandise is clean & so artfully arranged! I always shop here when I’m in town (from Oregon). Just call me a happy shopper. P.S. Thanks for all the good work you do in the community!”

Bargain Box of Wilmington is a thrift store ministry that helps many in the Lower Cape Fear region.  We were established in 2000, serving the poor and disadvantaged by distributing vouchers and cash grants to local non-profits and social service agencies. When donating clothing and household items or shopping online for a bargain, feel great knowing your resources are being recycled within your community.
